It is appropriate to take into account the existing regulatory framework, including Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council, Directive 2002/58/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, Directive (EU) 2019/790 of the European Parliament and of the Council, Regulation (EU) 2021/784 of the European Parliament and of the Council, as well as sector-specific legislation, such as Directive 2010/13/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, which provide for specific obligations for certain types of illegal content. This Regulation is without prejudice to those legal instruments and complements them.
